A Blueprint for Rebuilding

Ten Choices to Rebuild your Temple and Give God All the Glory

God seems to lay Nehemiah on my heart in many different chapters of my life. I remember when the text truly came to life for me. I was visiting a church, ministering to one of my other daughters, at a very difficult time in her life. She had just been abandoned by her mom. Nehemiah opened up the eyes of my heart to help her in the rebuilding process. In contemplating my word for the year, BECOMING NEW, it was the first scriptures that came to my mind.

Although I have been a bit lost this year in this process, so much life has happened in the last 6 months, it has remained steadily on my soul. I came up with these first ten choices Nehemiah makes in the process of planning, rebuilding and restoring his people and erecting those protective walls around them again. Some walls really are for protection if they are God built.

In preparing to walk you through Nehemiah I discovered four more choices that will benefit each of us. I hope that you will join me in the next fourteen blog posts, as I unpack these choices and how they apply to us personally. I will share my personal struggle and my own prayer that I have written using Nehemiah’s blueprint.

  1. Mourn, Fast, Pray Nehemiah 1
  2. Ask the Lord for what you want. Nehemiah 2:1-6
  3. Set yourself up for success, not failure. Nehemiah 2:7-10
  4. Examine the ruins. Nehemiah 2:11-16
  5. Begin the work with the new blueprint, plan, and those who will help you in the rebuilding process. Nehemiah 2:17-20
  6. One gate at a time. One step at a time. Nehemiah 3
  7. Defend yourself. Protect what you are rebuilding. Nehemiah 4:1-15; Nehemiah 6
  8. Keep watch over the new. Nehemiah 4:16-21
  9. Remember God’s promises to you. Nehemiah 5
  10. Remain faithful and continue growing. Nehemiah 7:1-3
  11. BONUS: Recount what God has done for you and Rejoice. Nehemiah 7:5- Nehemiah :1-37
  12. BONUS 2: The Agreement with God. Nehemiah 9:38 – 10, 11, 12:1-26
  13. BONUS 3: Dedication of the New. Nehemiah 12:27-47
  14. BONUS 4: Continue Reforming. Nehemiah 13

Praying for each and every one of you that need this, and I hope that everything I share, opens the eyes of your heart and helps you grow in faith and build new for the glory of God.

Blessings my friends,

Susanne
